A little information about the song. Always interesting to know. Taken from wikipedia.
"Sara" is a #1 hit song by the band Starship. It was sung by Mickey Thomas, of the newly renamed band Starship, from their first albumKnee Deep in the Hoopla. The song hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on March 15, 1986 staying at that position for one week. It was the band's second #1 hit after the song "We Built This City" hit the mark a few months earlier in 1985. It also became the band's first number-one song on the adult contemporary chart, where it remained for three weeks. Although written by Peter and Ina Wolf, the song was named for Thomas's wife at the time, Sara (née Kendrick).
The music video for "Sara" prominently features actor Rebecca De Mornay and Thomas in a storyline about a relationship ending, with frequent flashbacks to what is presumably Thomas's character's childhood and the tornado that wrecked his home.
this is not torture, this is glorious. hahha. but i will take the time to note the things I found hilarious about this very 80s quality video.
ReplyDelete1. the tumbleweed at the beginning.
2. the mullet. no surprise there.
3. the way you could see his breath whil he was singing. that was a bit strange...
I'm not sure if it is jut me, but that video made very little sense. i couldn't find the conection with the flashbacks.
But either way, great song. love it.
I agree. Awkward story line with the flashbacks.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you enjoyed it. Now they just need to write a song titled "Kristin." That would be fun x10!
Nice tribute to the 80's. Did anything really make much sense in this era?? (fashion, hair, makeup, etc.) I think it was 'IN' to be out of sorts and confusing! :)
ReplyDeleteDid you know there's a song called "Kristen Did It" by Phamous Phaces? I know it's misspelled, but it's a really good song!
ReplyDeleteI did not know...I will have to check that out!
