I have always thought that the automatic craft cutters were cool, but this one is awesome! The Silhouette will cut paper and vinyl!

What We Read: Week of June 20

We joined the summer reading club at our local library last week. Caleb was given a t-shirt just for signing up to participate. He really didn't need any incentive to check out books, but it was exciting for him nonetheless.

The library allows you to check out up to 30 items at a time. I thought this was a bit much, so I told Caleb he could borrow 2 movies and 8 books at one time. I picked a nice round number so that I'll always know how many items we'd be returning each time we visit the library.

He picked out:

...along with another book entitled Rustie's Big Adventure and 2 Thomas the Tank Engine VHS tapes. Thank goodness we still have a VHS/DVD combo in our bedroom. The library doesn't have very many DVDs for children, but they have LOADS of VHS tapes.

When we reach 20 books read, Caleb will receive several coupons for treats at local restaurants and such. I'll update you when we achieve that milestone and let you know what was included.

7 years

Can you believe it? Jadie and I have been married for 7 years now!

I may not feel like I have a handle on everything in my life, but I sure do enjoy it!

Summer Goals

I confess that this is not my original idea. I have seen variations of this on several blogs.

Although Caleb originally said he was not interested in making this list, he has been enthusiastic since we finished it. We accomplished 4 goals already today!

Perfect Combination

I take back what I've been saying about Sarah not getting overly fussy as she's cutting her teeth. She is becoming annoyingly unsatisfiable.

Today's solution: Teddy Grahams

1) They soothe her gums as she gnaws on them.

2) They fill her tummy when she needs a snack.

3) They give me a few moments to myself without having to hear the fussiness.

Ft Worth Zoo

Although I arrived in Keller with the kids on Saturday night (so that we could attend a birthday party on Sunday), I didn't leave for home until Tuesday morning.

Mom had planned a trip to the Ft Worth Zoo for Caleb's Monday with Granana. She let me tag along.

Crazy hippos! This is the farthest they came up out of the water. Who can blame them? It was HOT and humid!

Cruising

Sarah pulls up on anything from the coffee table, to her toys, to my legs. Here we go....on to another level of mobility!
