It's been entirely too long since I've been to mom's, and even longer for Jadie. But we had a wedding to attend, so that got us there. Since Caleb's started soccer, we're committed to being home every Saturday morning, so Jadie was on duty for the soccer game this weekend. I got my wonderful friend Gail to take care of Caleb Friday afternoon until Jadie could get home that evening. So I split and headed to mom's with just Sarah!!!
We went to see Kristin's new place in Ft Worth--which was totally cute! It's another older home full of charm. You'll have to see pictures by visiting her blog. It was just the girls for Friday night. Awesome. I loved it! We went to dinner at Mercado Juarez and tried watching the movie Babies. Sorry, but that was a snoozer. And I'll take the blame. I brought it and I'll admit, it was SLOW!
Kristin and I headed out in the morning to search out some shoes for me to wear to the wedding. I never found anything that quite fit what I needed, but I found 2 pair for everyday wear. Isn't that the way it always works? Well, I bought to 2 for everyday wear anyway.
Jadie got to town and Mom finished what she was doing at home and so we all met up for lunch and then headed back to the house.
The wedding was beautiful and I'm excited for their life together to come. It's not unusual for me to have a stupid moment. Usually involves me saying something stupid or doing something equally stupid. Well, apparently it was stupid to give the groom a hug. when I pulled away, the straight pin from his boutonniere was stuck in my face. Ummm....Ouch! I had a hard time trusting Jadie and Scott to pull it out of my face. Every time they pulled on it, the skin was really holding on to it and I could feel them turning it the wrong way. By the time Scott's Aunt Joy was able to get to me (she's a nurse), the pin finally came out easily as we pulled the jacket away to show her. So totally embarrassing. And if you know me at all, you know I cried through it, of course.
I was also able to meet with my friend Nicole on my way home and visit with her for a couple of hours. I love that girl.
Sarah and I stopped at an antique mall to look around. The lady at the counter was so adorable. I told her I was looking for a neutral brooch, something in black or clear rhinestones. She talked with me about an episode of Pawn Stars where a lady brought in a Tiffany and Co. brooch with no idea that it was so valuable. Anyway, I thought she was so funny--that old lady watching Pawn Stars! She also helped me get to the car with Sarah and the stroller since there were only stairs from the building to the parking lot.
All in all, I had a wonderful weekend. It was full of family, friends, and driving!
