New Post

Wow, that title was creative.

We haven't been up to a whole lot since last time I posted, but here's the low-down anyway.

Monday, March31--Vet appointment for Dusty...same old, same old. He's overweight at almost 40 pounds. The vet says to only feed him 2 cups a day. We went home and measured the cup we usually feed him from, and surprise! We've been feeding him exactly 2 cups. We're supposed to swing by the vet sometime next week to see if he's decreased by the 2 week mark. I doubt it. We are terrible doggy parents...we pretty much never walk poor old Dusty. I think that would help the most.

Tuesday, April 1--Dentist appointment for me to have 2 cavities filled. Yuck! I say that just the idea that I didn't take good enough care of my teeth to avoid the cavities. Actually having them filled wasn't unpleasant at all. I didn't even require a numbing shot because the cavities weren't deep enough to need drilling. They did something with high powered air to do something similar to what the drill would do. As I paid before leaving the dentist, the receptionist said to be careful not to get tricked. I was oblivious until I was already out the door and walking to my car. And apparently April Fool's had slipped my mind again by the time I got home because, sure enough, I got fooled. I was making lunch for the 3 of us when I went to use the kitchen faucet. When I turned on the water, the sprayer drenched me with water. Can you guess what my jokster of a husband did while I was gone to the dentist? Let's just say that clear packing tape can be used for more than packing boxes.

Wednesday, April 2--My first BSF in 2 years!!! BSF is Bible Study Fellowship, a non-denominational bible study for men and women of all ages. This particular meeting will accommodate Caleb since he is over 2 years old. So, for the next 7-8 weeks, we'll be learning about the book of Matthew. Apparently, the children's program is meant to teach children that the Bible is God's holy word and also a little from the book we're studying that year. I'll know more about what they do later because moms are supposed to volunteer once a semester to help with the children's program.

Thursday, April 3--MOPS Morning! We all learned a little more about how to plan for a location and themes for our little one's birthday parties. Then we tried our hand at cupcake decorating. Yummy!

Friday, April 4 through today--We got the garden itch!!! Basically we spent this weekend picking out flowers for a flower bed in the back yard. Jadie was only allowed to participate in the flower choosing stage. Jadie's mom helped by digging up a 2ft x 24 ft section of grass right behind the house. We selected this spot because we were always tearing up the wood siding on the house with the weed eater. Pictures to follow another day...
