What is funny to me about this comment is I had a teacher in junior high that WOULD give her mom a present on her birthday for the exact reason. She said her mom was in labor with her so she should be celebrated too!
Amen sister...it's very true. We celebrate the new life, but we should also celebrate the fact that the intense labor is over!
