Baby #3: 27 weeks

How I'm feeling:

I'm doing pretty well.  I was dreading the glucose test, that's for sure.  I always dread needles, especially needles that draw blood.  In my past experience, it's taken about 5 minutes for a nurse/lab tech to even find a "good vein."  Then, once the needle's in, it takes a good 5-10 minutes to draw the required amount of blood.  I ALWAYS make sure they allow me to lie down.  I've had experience with fainting in the past, so I just don't take my chances anymore!

Today's glucose test was a breeze.  Truly.  After drinking the semi-decent tasting orange drink then sitting in the waiting room with both kids for an hour, the blood draw was over in the blink of an eye.  I've never had a more positive experience.  She found a vein in 30 seconds, stuck me with the needle, and had 2 vials of blood after only 30 seconds with that needle in my arm.  I don't know if my body's changing, or if that lab tech was a miracle worker.  But I think it had everything to do with covering this procedure in prayer.  Praise the Lord!

Baby Center says:

This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.
